If you have a system currently running yakkety or that upgraded to you
yakkety you could look to see how many kernels the modules were built
for e.g. here's a yakkety system of mine:
[ 9:05AM 10517 ] [ bdmurray at impulse:/tmp ]
$ grep "Building for" /var/log/dist-upgrade/apt-term.log
Building for 4.4.0-66-generic and 4.8.0-41-generic
Building for 4.4.0-66-generic and 4.8.0-41-generic
Building for architecture x86_64
Building for 4.4.0-66-generic and 4.8.0-41-generic
I'm sure there are plenty of apt-term.log files attached to upgrade bug
reports in LP one could also check.

Bug description:
When upgrading from 16.10 to 17.04 using `update-manager -d`, the
`nvidia-375` DKMS modules are not compiled for the new kernel.
The result is that the user must run `apt install --reinstall
nvidia-375` and reboot.
To reproduce this:
- Clean install of 16.10 on a system with NVIDIA graphics
- Install `nvidia-375`
- Run `update-manager -d`, complete all steps, then reboot
- You will be unable to login until running `apt install --reinstall nvidia-375`
