Title:
  update from 14.04 LTS to 16.04 LTS using sudo do-release-upgrade -d

Status in ubuntu-release-upgrader package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  I am currently using 14.04 LTS and I'm trying to upgrade to 16.04 LTS
  Alpha. Commands used: sudo apt-get update; sudo apt-get dist-upgrade;
  sudo apt-get upgrade; sudo update-grub; sudo do-release-upgrade -d.
  Starts to upgrade and says Aborted install and restores state back to
  14.04 LTS. I am using a Toshiba Satellite C655D-S5518 w/ 4GB
  RAM(upgraded) and a 500GB SATA HDD(upgraded). Everything is functional
  for upgrades up to 15.10, but not to 16.04 Alpha. Used terminal to
  attempt upgrade and fail everytime. Also tried in shell mode without
  GUI, but still failed to upgrade to 16.04. Using Ubuntu 14.04.3 LTS
  that is up to date as of 10 minutes ago.
