Your sources.list file somehow contains entries for saucy not trusty
(Ubuntu 16.04).  Please resolve that situation and try the upgrade
again.

  When trying to install 16.04. on 14.04, update fails by suggesting faulty internet connection.
  yet connection is fine.
  upgrading via console or software-center fails in inability to download repository information, suggests partial upgrade but fails too.
