It just sits there, and does nothing, but the cursor flashes.

  I expected to open the Software & Updates, (under System Settings, on Right corner drop-down menu, I can't tell you the name of the drop-down menu, because my screen does not display right.), by clicking on Icon.
  A crash happened instead.
