After the respin of the release candidate the installer is running in
both versions, i386 and amd64 :-)

** Changed in: debian-installer (Ubuntu)

Title:
Lubuntu's alternate installer: no kernel modules were found

Status in debian-installer package in Ubuntu:
  Fix Released

Bug description:
Testing the Yakkety release candidate of Lubuntu alternate i386
  version:

  - rather early in the installer, in complains: 'no kernel modules were
  found ...'

  - at ctrl+alt+F4: no packages matching running kernel 4.8.0.22-generic
  in archive

This is a new bug. The previous version of the release candidate
worked. I copied the log files via a USB pendrive. I hope it is a
  complete set of log files.

Edit: this bug affects the Lubuntu Yakkety alternate amd64 version
  too.
