Ah, sorry, I forgot to follow up on this. Yes, the bug has been fixed
for about a week now (but I was on vacation).

Is it better to mark this as Fix Released instead?

Bug description:
  The latest yakkety server amd64 daily (20160921.1, sha1sum
  b3e9f59397389bf23390f4869d3aef46de5d105c) fails to detect and mount
  the CD-ROM.

  Please see attached screenshot.

  I confirmed that this is happening on physical hardware when booting
  the server installer from a USB stick (I tested in both UEFI and BIOS
  mode, both fail).

  This also happens under QEMU in BIOS mode. I can't test under QEMU in
  UEFI mode because of lp:1624096
