Public bug reported:

After trying to upgrade to ubuntu 16.04 (from 15.10), I got the error
message that

"Could not calculate the upgrade

An unresolvable problem occurred while calculating the upgrade.

This can be caused by:
* Upgrading to a pre-release version of Ubuntu
* Running the current pre-release version of Ubuntu
* Unofficial software packages not provided by Ubuntu

If none of this applies, then please report this bug using the
command 'ubuntu-bug ubuntu-release-upgrader-core' in a terminal."

I did a sudo apt-get clean, update, dist-upgrade, etc.

I checked the log with $ grep ERROR /var/log/dist-upgrade/main.log :
2016-05-12 15:00:56,655 ERROR Dist-upgrade failed: 'E:Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.'

However, $ sudo apt-get -f update does nothing to fix the problem, and
all other methods I could think of show that I have no broken packages.
