[Bug 1552618] [NEW] Troubles on choosing a path for a new project

Public bug reported:

I'm using Ubuntu 16.04 dev with git-gui 1:2.7.0-1 and if I'm starting
git-gui, selecting "Create New Repository", clicking "Browse" and then
entering a non-existent path the "OK" button needs then 2 clicks until
it reacts. If the choosen directory exists instead of accepting it the
GUI changes first into this directory. Also selecting a directory with a
mouse and clicking "OK" does not select this directory which could be
confusing.

** Affects: git (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
