Public bug reported:

Some prefer other text editors. While it's nice to have it included, it
should be marked as a "recommended" package and not a "required" one.
This package, nor any of its dependencies, require gedit to function.

This also applies for the "ubuntukylin-desktop" and "ubuntu-gnome-
desktop" packages.

** Affects: ubuntu-meta (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New

** Tags: dependency gedit ubuntu-desktop ubuntu-gnome-desktop ubuntukylin-desktop xenial
