Title:
  package linux-image-3.13.0-92-generic 3.13.0-92.139 failed to
  install/upgrade: run-parts: /etc/kernel/postinst.d/zz-runlilo exited
  with return code 1

Status in lilo package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
The only Ubuntu error here is that the real error message from LiLo
was hidden in a large number of information messages.

After "sudo apt-get update" and "sudo apt-get dist-upgrade" a large
number of packages were installed. Possibly there was an error from
LiLo in the mist of that, if so I missed it. There appeared to be a
failure installing a new kernel, so I uninstalled it, saw a LiLo
error, fixed it (I had referenced an unreadable message file) and
reinstalled the new kernel with an error from /etc/kernel/postinst.d
/zz-update-grub. I guess that I did not purge that properly. After
another couple of uninstall-install cycles all seems well.

Also, why was a stanza for the new kernel added to /etc/lilo.conf? I
had to do that manually, and mark and old stanza as "optional". I
will uninstall that kernel later. LiLo follows the links that were
correctly set up, so it would have worked anyway.

BTW why do you regenerate the initrd of the kernel that is being
removed? It seems like a waste of time.
