Title:
Upgrading from 14.04 to 15.04 fails on calculating upgrade
Status in ubuntu-release-upgrader package in Ubuntu:
New
Bug description:
When trying to upgrade Ubuntu either through the terminal (sudo do-
release-upgrade) or through the software updater, it will fail just
after starting saying that "An unresolvable error occurred while
calculating the upgrade" and it can't continue.
The error I got is this:
An unresolvable problem occurred while calculating the upgrade.
This can be caused by:
* Upgrading to a pre-release version of Ubuntu
* Running the current pre-release version of Ubuntu
* Unofficial software packages not provided by Ubuntu
If none of this applies, then please report this bug using the
command 'ubuntu-bug ubuntu-release-upgrader-core' in a terminal.
I've looked around for a solution, but I couldn't find any so I'm
reporting it. I don't know if duelbooting Windows 10 on the same drive
could potentially do something, but that's why I'm reporting this bug.
Looking at the upgrade log files (/var/log/dist-upgrade/main.log), I
noticed that close to the end it errors on trying to run
SystemUnLock() and fails as it is already unlocked (I'm just typing
what it said).
1) Release version: 14.04.3 LTS Trusty Tahr
2) Version of package: 1.0.220.8
3) What I expected to happen: The upgrade process to continue normally.
4) What happened instead: The upgrade failed and notified without much information.
