Hello,

Yes, updated btrfs-tools has landed early Friday morning, however I was
not able to access ppc64el system yet to test and reverify btrfs
installation. However, based on your comment, I shall mark this bug as
fix released.

Images 20160122 and later should be all good.

Bug description:
  Hello.

  The installation of the daily build image has been failing from Nov 9 through Nov 12 so far on ppc64el, using btrfs.
  When using other file systems installation is successful.

  Image downloaded from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/ubuntu-
  server/daily/current/xenial-server-ppc64el.iso

  Error and syslog in the file "syslog" attached.
