Title:
wanted to upgrade ubuntu 14.04 to 14.10
Status in ubuntu-release-upgrader package in Ubuntu:
Confirmed
Bug description:
I see that currently, ubuntu support is ON for versions 12.04 LTS, 14.04 LTS and 15.04 and 15.10.
I have 14.04 (probably 14.04.3) installed on my 32-bit dell laptop. I want to try the non-long-term-support versions between 14.04 and the forthcoming 16.04 LTS versions. I searched on internet if it is possible to directly upgrade from 14.04 to 15.04 or 15.10, but it says that I have to go step by step, that is, upgrade in the sequence: 14.04 --> 14.10 --> 15.04 --> 15.10 or, optionally, to only consider upgrade to next long-term version 16.04
I want to suggest that, even if the long-term support version has updates later to the discontinuation of support of the next non-LTS version, the upgradation should be possible.
