we are seing the same issue here, net-booting into a preseed based auto
install with a local mirror of the basic repo and then allowing security
updates from the official server during install.

i've noticed that when i use only the host name of our local apt mirror
the error appears, however when I use the full domain name including our
local domain it works just fine..

the same is true if i open a console once the installer stopps and do a
ping:

#ping install
--> segfault 

#ping install.corp.localdomain 
--> pong
