Looks like this was fixed in the 2.8.7-2 upload into Debian.

Bug description:
  I was initially looking at why a recently synced version of the suds
  package from Debian failed to build in Xenial [1].  It appears to be a
  problem with running the Python 3 tests with pytest:

  I: pybuild base:184: cd '/«PKGBUILDDIR»/.pybuild/pythonX.Y_3.5/build'; python3.5 -m pytest tests
  /usr/bin/python3.5: No module named pytest

  Looking further, I grabbed the python3-pytest deb from Xenial, this is the entire contents:
