  git email address isn't updated when amending a commit

Status in git package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  If I change my email address and then amend my last commit I would
  expect the email address to be updated to the new address, however the
  old one sticks (it doesn't get updated).

  Git is version 2.7.4-0ubuntu1 on xenial.
