I can confirm that the latest Ubuntu GNOME yakkety daily amd64 iso has
networking again, as tested in yakkety's virtualbox with virtual
ethernet.

Bug description:
  The most recent daily image for Ubuntu GNOME was built with livecd-
  rootfs 2.428 but still doesn't have networking (I tested with
  yakkety's VirtualBox which exposes a virtual ethernet connection).
