Public bug reported:

Tried to make a normal upgrade today but apt-get always hangs on grub-
pc. I killed all the processes forced the lock open manually again and
tried 'dpkg reconfigure -a' and 'sudo dpkg -i /var/cache/apt/archives
/grub-pc_2.02~beta2-9ubuntu1.12_amd64.deb' and e new 'apt-get upgrade'
always with the same result, that is hanging while configuring. Dmesg
shows nothing special. Only hint on was is going wrong is coming if I
try to reinstall the package:

sudo apt-get install --reinstall grub-pc
[sudo] password for <user>:
