Ok, updated to 1:0.196.17, now i386 packages are shown in the
unsupported packages list:

$ hwe-support-status --show-all-unsupported | grep i386

Bug description:
  Right now hwe-support-status is only in 12.04.  14.04 users might want
  that information for their release as well.

  Alternatively the functionality could be merged into ubuntu-support-
  status.
