This is how it looked to me today with the GA components:

Network device type:
1: ctc: Channel to Channel (CTC) or ESCON connection,
2: qeth: OSA-Express in QDIO mode / HiperSockets,
3: iucv: Inter-User Communication Vehicle - available for VM guests only,

  4: virtio: KVM VirtIO,
Prompt: '?' for help>

I could today see only that blank line ...

  --->  Option 4  shows a comma only :

From here you can choose to retry DHCP network autoconfiguration (which may
succeed if your DHCP server takes a long time to respond) or to configure the
network manually. Some DHCP servers require a DHCP hostname to be sent by the
client, so you can also choose to retry DHCP network autoconfiguration with a
  hostname that you provide.
  Network configuration method:
    1: Retry network autoconfiguration,
2: Retry network autoconfiguration with a DHCP hostname,
    3: Configure network manually [*],

5: Do not configure the network at this time,

Option 4 is for wireless configuration which does not exist on s390.
The problem here is that the list of choices is implemented in the
templates file itself and becomes replaced. The wireless choice is
  replaced with an empty string.

A possible solution would be to create the complete choices string
within the netcfg module. However, this might have an impact on
  translation then.

I will leave the final decision up to Canonical how to solve this.

  Thanks.
