Title:
/boot partition on md0 can't be mounted, if luks used to crypt md1
with lvm
Status in udisks package in Ubuntu:
Invalid
Bug description:
During installation of 10.04.2 LTS via PXE (debian-installer) I partitioned two harddisks this way:
/dev/md0 is raid1 of 256mb primary partitions on sda an sdb (mean sda1 and sdb1), mounted as /boot (ext2)
/dev/md1 is raid of the rest primary partitions on sda and sdb (mean sda2 and sdb2)
Then md1 was crypted, and then lvm was placed on it.
Now, when booting the system can't mount /boot, but overall booting succeeds.
I tried to reinstall system three times, with filling begin (>4GB) and end (2GB) of both HDDs with zeros, but the same.
Actually, /dev/md0 does not start. When starting manually, I get:
# mdadm --assemble --scan
mdadm: /dev/md0 has been started with 1 drive (out of 2).
/proc/mdstat:
# cat /proc/mdstat
Personalities : [raid1] [linear] [multipath] [raid0] [raid6] [raid5] [raid4] [raid10]
md0 : active raid1 md1p1[0]
248768 blocks [2/1] [U_]
md1 : active raid1 sda[0] sdb[1]
488136640 blocks [2/2] [UU]
[=====>...............] resync = 26.5% (129517632/488136640) finish=88.3min speed=67665K/sec
Quite strange, since I did raid devices with sda1/sdb1 and sda2/sdb2.
I tried to reproduce this on KVM virtual machine with two storage
devices, but got correct partitioning (amd64 distribution used in both
situation)
