[Bug 1497445] Re: Unable to create any bootable USB stick in Trusty

Ok, that's just odd and doesn't make much sense to me, but yes, after
rebooting, I am able now to create USB sticks from both 14.04.3 and
Wily Daily using 0.2.56.3ubuntu0.1.

I really would not have expected to reboot for that, to be honest...
then again, I'm quite old school and the idea of rebooting a linux
machine at all is something I seldom do.

I remember the days of having up to a full year of uptime... heh...

Title:
Unable to create any bootable USB stick in Trusty

Status in usb-creator package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
I am completely unable to create a Vivid USB stick using usb-creator-
  gtk.

I just downloaded the most recent 15.04 amd64 iso from
releases.ubuntu.com and attempted three times to build a bootable USB
  stick with usb-creator-gtk.

This failed both times with an error box stating that USB creator was
  unable to write boot loader.

I used a vivid image, a known working 16GB USB stick (I've used this
stick successfully many times thanks to unetbootin), no persistence.

First, it took for ever and it seemed to hang at 96% for a long time,
then 99% before prompting me a second time for a root password. Then
as soon as I entered the password, the error appeared. It simply says
"Failed to install the bootloader" and has a button that says "Quit".

Unfortunately, this is all I can tell you since usb-creator-gtk lacks
any sort of debug output option and I can't find where it writes any
  log files at all.

  DistroRelease: Ubuntu 14.04
