Public bug reported:

I am completely unable to create a Vivid USB stick using usb-creator-
gtk.

I just downloaded the most recent 15.04 amd64 iso from
releases.ubuntu.com and attempted three times to build a bootable USB
stick with usb-creator-gtk.

This failed both times with an error box stating that USB creator was
unable to write boot loader.

I used a vivid image, a known working 16GB USB stick (I've used this
stick successfully many times thanks to unetbootin), no persistence.

First, it took for ever and it seemed to hang at 96% for a long time,
then 99% before prompting me a second time for a root password. Then as
soon as I entered the password, the error appeared. It simply says
"Failed to install the bootloader" and has a button that says "Quit".

Unfortunately, this is all I can tell you since usb-creator-gtk lacks
any sort of debug output option and I can't find where it writes any log
files at all.
