  install/_unpack stage should not follow symlinks when stat'ing files

Status in click package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  During the install/_unpack stage, the code that stats the files
  unnecessarily follows symlinks.  This is causing click package
  installation failures for the lp:puritine project.
