Definitely looks like it's being removed in the same pass as adding the
nvidia drivers.  Would be good to hunt that down.  Do you have the apt
logs?

  I just installed wily and am already getting:
  Calculating upgrade... The following packages were automatically installed and are no longer required:
    linux-headers-generic linux-image-generic python-notify thermald
  Use 'apt-get autoremove' to remove them.

  I've done a few things to make it make my install my own, but I
  haven't been able to figure out what would have made these packages
  auto-removable.
