erm, you have a *ubuntu* chroot, you want to "upgrade" it to a *debian*
release and you expect it to just work?

sorry, but this really can be supported, I'm surprised just adjusting
the mirror worked fine.

  Hello,

  I had a fine install (at least pbuilder --execute -- /bin/echo huhu worked) of squeeze on a Lucid system. Now I wanted to upgrade to sid and did
   
  $ sudo pbuilder --update --override-config --distribution sid 
  I: Upgrading for distribution sid

  I: extracting base tarball [/var/cache/pbuilder/base.tgz]
  I: creating local configuration
  I: copying local configuration
  I: Installing apt-lines
  I: mounting /proc filesystem

  but updates worked fine before when I had my squeeze servers. I had to
  specify the mirrors even though this was done before and should remain
  unchanged:

  sudo pbuilder --update --mirror ftp://ftp.de.debian.org/debian
  --override-config --distribution sid

  This is not too bad, but, somehow I feel that this could be improved
  on.
