[Bug 1512087] [NEW] Please merge batik from Debian

Public bug reported:

Please merge the latest version of batik from Debian.

In the Ubuntu changelog I found the following comment "fix upstream
version since we're stuck with this fake upstream version until the next
upstream release" which I guess explains 1.7.ubuntu-8ubuntu3. Now that
batik 1.8-3 has been packaged in Debian, I think that it might be able
to resolve this issue. It looks like not all of the patches have been
included in Debian, so an Ubuntu-delta is probably still necessary.

(The latest version of jasperreports requires batik >= 1.8 in order to build)

** Affects: batik (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
