This is a bitesize bug (so approachable to new developers) inasmuch as
one should probably be able to tweak the .po files to adjust for the new
way the strings are build. This appears to be a diversion we have in
Debian/Ubuntu from upstream.

Title:
mixed english/german translation in grub menu

Status in grub2 package in Ubuntu:
  Triaged

Bug description:
In grub menu "advanced options" I see the list of kernels written in 2
languages German and English, for instance:

"Ubuntu, mit kernel 3.13.0-23-generic" (<-- translated to German)
"Ubuntu, with kernel 3.13.0.23-generic (recovery mode)" (<-- untranslated message 1304)
  ...

The english ones are all the "recovery mode" entries.

There is allready a correct german translation in launchpad waiting for rewiew since more than 4 years! (Thanks Mario Blättermann)
