Title:
Update to 10.04.2 LTS overwrites Xorg.conf without backup

Status in update-manager package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: update-manager

After updating to 10.04.2 LTS ("lucid") my graphical desktop did
behave buggy sometimes, so I must restart my laptop firstly twice and
later multiple times to get a working environment.

Whilde doing bug analysis I found, that /etc/X11/xorg.conf was
overwritten without any backup (at least I did not found any
  suitable).

Expected behaviour would be, to have any file in "/etc"X11/" starting
with "xorg" and ending with some arbitrary text, identifying it as a
  backup.

(I still do bug analysis... next step will be, to restore originally
  xorg.conf from a private backup...)
