Title:
  package grub-pc-bin 2.02~beta2-9ubuntu1 failed to install/upgrade:
package grub-pc-bin is already installed and configured

Status in dpkg package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
what i would like to do is this. i have asus motherboard (with a
AMD cpu) in pc tower case. i have 2 wd 1tb hdd. i have 2 wd 500gb hdd.
i low level format all 4 hdd's. i tell the motherboard to (raid 1)
the first 2 wd 1tb hdd. then i install windows xp professional 64bit.
  that works fine.

next i want to install Ubuntu 14.04.1 LTS (Trusty Tahr) on the
other 2 wd 500 gb hdd. i do not tell the motherboard to (raid 1) the 2
wd 500gb hdd. 14.04 will be a software raid install because 14.04 will
not install if i tell the motherboard to (raid 1) first.

which 14.04 image do i select? if i want to (raid 1) i can not
install 14.04 on to hardware raid. i can only install on to 2 hdd by
software raid. is this correct? my computer has 8gb RAM (64 bit) There
are 2 different images for desktop 14.04 and 2 different images for
  server 14.04.

  64-bit PC (AMD64) desktop image 981 MB
  64-bit PC (AMD64) desktop image 964 MB

64-bit PC (AMD64) server install image 572 MB
64-bit PC (AMD64) server install image 564 MB

based on the fact that my first 2 hdd are hardware raid 1 with
windows xp installed on the whole drive and my next 2 hdd are low
level formated and left free without the motherboard using them in a
hardware raid 1 configuration which image do i use if my intention is
to have ubuntu 14.04 install grub bootloader on to a floppy disk
(connected through usb)? what are the steps needed to prepare a brand
new floppy disk to enable ubuntu 14.04 to recognize the disk load the
grub bootloader on to it. the floppy disk is read by gparted as sdc
not fd0, is there something i should do, or do i type in sdc even
though grub installation is asking for fd0?
