  kernel upgrade fails; no space left on /boot

Status in dpkg package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  This is the "within-release" equivalent to Bug #1173468. An upgrade to
  kernel 3.8.0 within raring failed because there was no space left on
  /boot.

  It is my recall that upgrades to 3.5.0 automatically cleaned up the
  old kernel files in /boot. If so, this would make this problem a
  regression. My memory, however, might be at fault.
