Title:
grub2 error on 64-bit efi system - fresh install fails

Status in grub-installer package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
When doing a fresh install on a 64-bit EFI system, GRUB 2 does not
install correctly when the computer is not connected to the internet.

It is similar to Bug #1279470, but it is a different distribution: it
is Ubuntu MATE 15.04 Beta 64-bit Live DVD, not Xubuntu or Lubuntu. The
Live DVD was booted in EFI mode. Secure Boot was turned off in the
  BIOS.

When I connected to the internet and turned off Intel Rapid Storage
Technology in the BIOS, then I could install GRUB 2 and the computer
  could boot into Ubuntu.

Still, I think it would be worth checking into this, so that an
internet connection would not be required to install Ubuntu MATE.
