It appears that you tried to install grub to an LVM volume.  You need to
install it to the real hard disk, i.e. /dev/sda.

  Invalid

Bug description:
  I am trying to install Ubuntu 14 then upgrading to 15 in an clean
  install. I have to SATA volumes, 200 GB total.

  Unknown computer i just bought, have obviously been overclocked,
  because BIOS is moaing. After five installs, this error came after I
  fell back to Load-failsafe-defaults and gave it another try.
