Title:
boot fails on dual boot UEFI System

Status in grub2 package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
I am having trouble with grub ever since.
In an earlier version I could manage that my laptop is able to boot
  (see https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/grub2/+bug/1187345 )

However, since an update to version Ubuntu 14.04 boot is crashing again.
Since then I am living with the workaround to interrupt booting and switch into BIOS (by pressing F12) and select a boot option from there.

After my latest update I restarted my Computer.
  No Boot possible.
black screen, a terrible beep occurs every 2 seconds.
No possibility to get into BIOS and its boot menu.

after several attempts of turning on / off the computer I got an:
"error: symbol 'grub_term_highlight_color' not found" - error,
and I reached the grub-rescue shell.

I checked the www for help, nevertheless I failed to boot linux from
  there.

Somehow I managed to boot the system by inserting a "super grub2 disk" which enabled me to get to the BIOS and boot from there.

  ************************************************

The system is now up and running, but I am aware, that grub is still
not working properly and I will encounter the same problems when
  rebooting.

Since I never switched to Windows 8 for more than a year, I would be
OK with getting rid of it, if it would help to get rid of my boot
  problems.

In https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/grub2/+bug/1187345 it is recommended to run:
  dpkg-reconfigure grub-pc
  to solve a similar problem.
However, since I need to run grub-efi, this doesn't work for me.

  Question:
Is there a similar solution for grub-efi that should solve my issue?

Thanks in advance for any help!
