We're not going to include the full build-tools on a default install...
Too few people will need it. Thanks for the suggestion though, and
please keep reporting bugs to Ubuntu.

Title:
  build-essential and checkinstall

Status in ubuntu-meta package in Ubuntu:
  Won't Fix

Bug description:
  When i try to compile a .tar.gz, i can't compile it until i install build-essential and checkinstall.
I think that's good to include build-essential and checkinstall by default, because it's easier to compile a file.

This isn't a needs-packaging bug report because build-essential and checkinstall are already packaged.
