Any update on this? It would be great if the mongodb support is re added
to the rsyslog package.
I did recompile the rsyslog package with mongodb support enabled using
apt-get source and it worked well with libmongo-client-dev offcial
package.

Title:
please add mongo support again
Status in rsyslog package in Ubuntu:
Confirmed
Bug description:
The ubuntu version of this package ships without mongodb support
mongo now appears to be in trusty so it would be possible to enable
the compile of the rsyslog-mongo package
I did complete testing of rsyslog + mongodb + loganalyzer in Debian
wheezy-backports and it all worked (using 7.4.4-1 with a couple of
patches cherry picked from upstream)
The latest 7.4.8-1 in sid today now has the same patches from upstream
to work reliably with mongodb
