Title:
grub fails with /boot on RAID 0

Status in grub package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: grub

Ubuntu server installer tries to install grub on RAID 0

When installing Ubuntu Server, using two hard disks as a software RAID
0 setup, with the /boot partition mounted inside the RAID partition
(should this be allowed for software RAID 0?) grub-install fails
because you can't boot off a RAID 0 with grub.

However, the grub-install simply freezes at 50% without any error
  messages.
