The error in your log is:

sed: can't read /lib/plymouth/themes/ubuntu-text/ubuntu-
text.plymouth.in: No such file or directory

This file is part of the package and is always installed when the
package is installed; so this is not a bug in the package.  You either
have a damaged filesystem, or you or some unauthorized software on your
system has removed the file.  You can reinstall the package with 'sudo
apt-get install --reinstall plymouth-theme-ubuntu-text' to restore the
missing file.
