[Bug 1415454] Re: package libpam-winbind:amd64 2:4.1.6+dfsg-1ubuntu2.14.04.4 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 128 froze on update throughthe update manager. Ran apt-get update afterwards without problem so I'm not sure if this is a problem or not, Samba works fine if that is anything to do with it..

I just tried it on one of the wine machines and the dpkg instruction
runs flashing up a series of old DOS like dialogues asking where the
font files are - I took the easy route and left it blank and hit OK,
then it asked about using a mirror site to download them and I again
left it blank and hit OK, the installer stopped and an error was
reported to the terminal saying that I had not accepted the EULA - I
didn't see where it was offered!! I'll manually download the webdin32
executable and try again - is there a 64 bit version?

So it is possible that the wine machine is the one that the original bug
was reported from - sorry for the vagueness but I have 4 Ubuntu machines
and the 2 without wine, on my office network, are having trouble with
the Software updater so have to be manually updated. The two with wine,
at home, are running different versions of Ubuntu - 12.04 and 14.04.
Both machines are currently updating and working fine through software
updater/update manager

Cheers
Kim

Title:
  package libpam-winbind:amd64 2:4.1.6+dfsg-1ubuntu2.14.04.4 failed to
  install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script
returned error exit status 128 froze on update throughthe update
manager. Ran apt-get update afterwards without problem so I'm not sure
if this is a problem or not, Samba works fine if that is anything to
  do with it..

Status in samba package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
I was doing an Update using the manager GUI and at the same time using
Gnome Commander to try and find a directory on the file system. Both
dialogues went dark and I had to kill them by right clicking on their
icon on the task bar. I then opened a terminal and ran apt-get update
and apt-get install and both ran without complaint so I figured I
didn't have a problem. The error popped up the following day when I
restarted the computer and was greeted with the bug report request.
