This version has expired some times ago, and no backport is expected as
there is no 'security' reported problem

Bug description:
My pc have 2 IDE HD with several partitions for to try several ubuntu distro.
Main distro is Ubuntu 10.4 32-bit were i've installed grub 1.98-1ubuntu12.
Another partition have Ubuntu 11.10 64bit were i tried to use recovery mode, but it always freeze then i cannot use.
Installed packages (in main distro):
grub-pc 1.98-1ubuntu12 GRand Unified Bootloader, version 2 (PC/BIOS version)
grub-common 1.98-1ubuntu12 GRand Unified Bootloader, version 2 (common files)
$ lsb_release -rd
Description: Ubuntu 10.04.3 LTS
Release: 10.04
PC: Pentium(R) Dual-Core CPU E5300 @ 2.60GHz (64bit)
I use usb keyboard so initally thinked that was the problem (see the
attachment)
I tryied to remove all usb devices and to use ps2 keyboard and mouse, but it freeze anyway.
Btw i like to use usb keyboard and mouse so i need to solve this problem.
