[Bug 1478204] Re: ACPI 219 -> boot failure

There isn't anything to go with here. It seems independent of the init
system, and mostly related to the graphics driver, i. e. a kernel issue.
Can you please "e"dit the default boot entry in grub and drop the
"quiet"? Please make/attach a screenshot (with a camera) when it
freezes. Thanks!

Title:
  ACPI 219 -> boot failure

Status in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
The bug reported by others and reported fixed in May only began
  affecting me this month
  (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/systemd/+bug/1432171/comments/27).
I suspect that the fix for other people's issues has caused my issue.

Going to Advanced Options and booting the upstart version doesn't
  help.

I've done the apt-get install upstart-sysv suggested as a fix. That
does make a difference, but subsequently it appears to get lost
looking for a graphics driver. It asks to use a default graphic mode,
but then the screen goes blank and nothing seems to happen.

I am running 15.04 with all the latest patches (up to about a week
ago, when this stopped me using the system) installed.
