Confirmed this is a disk full situation:

run-parts: executing /etc/kernel/postinst.d/initramfs-tools 3.13.0-55-generic /boot/vmlinuz-3.13.0-55-generic
update-initramfs: Generating /boot/initrd.img-3.13.0-55-generic

gzip: stdout: No space left on device

We should now be correctly marking these as automatically installed (and
only keeping a resdonable number) as part of the fixes under LP:
#923876.  Closing this out as fixed.
