[Bug 1482900] Re: subprocess new pre-removal script returned error exit status 1

Hi Brian,
   When the failure happened, it was the system that filed the bug report
and requested me to include the relevant information, which I did, to the
best of my ability. All I am trying to do is upgrade the OS to the latest
version without having to erase the old one and doing a fresh install,
which is what it appears I will have to do.
