I'm unable to reproduce. From the terminal log, I see that it is
reporting an illegal instruction in sed:
/var/lib/dpkg/info/grub-pc.postinst: line 368: 22257 Illegal instruction
sed -i -e 's/^\(GRUB_TIMEOUT=\)"\([0-9][0-9]*\)"/\1\2/'
"$tmp_default_grub"
Which is strange indeed. Is this reproducible? If not, I suspect a
memory error and would suggest running memtest on your system. If so, I
wonder if you might have a corrupt sed binary. I'm using 4.2.2-4ubuntu1.
