Title:
keyboard layout selection slow to update
Status in ubiquity package in Ubuntu:
Invalid
Bug description:
Binary package hint: ubiquity
When selecting a different keyboard layout during installation from
livecd, it takes a few seconds for the GUI (visual keyboard layout and
second combo) to be updated. First off, I'm not sure why it takes that
long - if this is a bug, it should be fixed. Second, after the
selection is made but before the GUI is updated, the second combo box
is still active - the user can open it and make a selection, only to
be interrupted by the update when it comes in. A good solution would
be to disable the second combo box during the update period, and re-
enable it when the rest of the GUI is updated. This will reduce the
usability confusion.
(running Kubuntu Lucid daily desktkop amd64 livecd)
