Please boot the install cd and choose the memtest option and let it run
for at least 15 minutes and see if it reports errors.

Bug description:
  install crashes. intel 3570k i5. z68 asus gen3 extreme3. 12gb RAM
  1333mhz dual channel, SSD 240gb, 1TB platter drive WD baracuda. Just
  switched from sandy bridge i5 2500k cpu to intel i5 3570k ivybridge,
  14.04 went nuts, lots of system errors. trying to reinstall and now it
  won't even install. installer crashes.....
