Are you using the most recent vivid? This sounds like bug 1431774 which
ought to be fixed now. Please follow
/usr/share/doc/systemd/README.Debian to start the debug shell, then shut
down. When it hangs switch to Ctrl+Alt+F9, capture the output of
"journalctl -b", and attach that here. Thanks!

Title:
  samba stops before systemd could unmount the share

Status in samba package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  I have a public share that I've recently added to thet fstab:

  //UBUNTUBOX/usagi/Music /mnt/usagi cifs
  guest,workgroup=workgroup,ip=192.168.35.88 0 0

  I've noticed that when I power off my machine systemd stops samba before it tries unmount the cifs share thus taking the user 3-4 minutes and then it gives up.

  I'm using Ubuntu GNOME 15.04 Vivid Vervet.
