---------------
initramfs-tools (0.103ubuntu15) vivid; urgency=medium
* scripts/local-premount/fixrtc: if systempart= is set, we do not want to
take root=/dev/ram into account even if it is defined on the kernel
cmdline (LP: #1443329)

Title:
fixrtc prefers root=/dev/ram over systempart= if the latter is set

Status in initramfs-tools-ubuntu-touch package in Ubuntu:
In Progress
Bug description:
when both, root= and systempart= are set on the cmdline (specifically
if root= points to /dev/ram) the root= parameter will always be
preferred. for an immediate solution there was a fix uploaded in
initramfs-tools to make root=/dev/ram ignored when systempart= is set
in 0.103ubuntu15.
while this helps in the specific case of phones that hardcode
root=/dev/ram on their kernel commandline, we need to consider if it
makes sense to always ignore root= if systempart is set or if there is
any sane combination of systempart= and root= that would require us to
keep root=.
