I suggest trying sudo rm /var/lib/apt/lists/ppa.launchpad
.net_nilarimogard_webupd8_ubuntu_dists_trusty_main_i18n_Translation-en

then try sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get -u dist-upgrade

Status in “update-manager” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  whenever i try to install vim compiler or jdk or upgrade anything it
  shows this message after entering the psswrd:

  E: Encountered a section with no Package: header
  E: Problem with MergeList /var/lib/apt/lists/ppa.launchpad.net_nilarimogard_webupd8_ubuntu_dists_trusty_main_i18n_Translation-en
  E: The package lists or status file could not be parsed or opened
