My apologies for this delinquent update; I took your advice to install
with new media & that solved the problem. Successfully installed Lubuntu
on a Samsung & ASUS netbook. Thank you.

  that all info related to problem was being collected and sent for
  evaluation; will get back to me with cause for crash & how to fix.
